Compact and lightweight—an outstanding walk-around lens Canon’s EF 50mm f/1.8 STM is a great entry into the world of EOS prime lenses. With an 80mm effective focal-length on APS-C cameras, 50mm on full-frame cameras, it’s an excellent prime lens for portraits, action, even nighttime photography. Its bright maximum aperture of f/1.8 helps it not only to excel in low light, but also to capture gorgeous, sharp images and movies with beautiful background blur thanks to its circular 7-blade design. An updated lens arrangement with new lens coatings helps render images with excellent color balance, plus minimized ghosting and flare. Performance is brilliant, with a stepping motor (gear-type STM) to deliver near silent, continuous Movie Servo AF for movies plus speedy, smooth AF for stills. A redesigned exterior with improved focus ring placement makes manual focus adjustments a breeze. Canon’s most compact 50mm lens, the EF 50mm f/1.8 STM has a rugged metal mount, plus an improved minimum focusing distance of 1.15 ft. (0.35m) and a maximum magnification of 0.21x. Lens filters are translucent glass placed in front of a camera lens to alter or adjust the light entering the camera and to protect the camera lens. Lens filters improve photographs by giving photographers control over light and allowing them to emphasize the features of a scene that they consider most important. This particular filter kit is a combination of the three essential filters no photographer should be without.
Filters are one of the least expensive accessories you can use to make big changes in the way your pictures look.
UV Filters
A UV filter is used to reduce UV rays from entering the lens and striking the film. Modern lenses often have UV protection built into them as well as digital sensors, however, UV filters are commonly used to help protect the surface of the lens from scratches, smudges, dirt and other hazards.
Circular Polarizing Filters
No camera bag should be without a polarizing filter, whether you shoot digital, color film, color slide, or black and white. A polarizer is different than most filters in that it is composed of two pieces of glass, mounted independently inside a round frame so that one can be rotated relative to the other. As it is rotated, it increasingly cuts out glare and haze. With an SLR, you can actually observe this change through the viewfinder. Polarizers reduce glare from water, glass, or any non-metallic surface. You can also use a polarizer filter to darken blue skies.
FLD Filters
A FLD filter (fluorescent light correction) provides the perfect solution for obtaining pleasing skin tones and correct color while shooting without a flash under fluorescent lighting. This filter gives true-to-life color rendition by removing the harsh yellow-green cast ordinarily resulting from fluorescent bulbs. When shooting under natural light, a fluorescent filter dramatically increases color saturation of subjects such as sunrises and sunsets.

Returns
Redtag Camera is proud to offer a

or exchange policy. We will offer a full refund or exchange for qualifying items returned within 30 days of the delivery date. All returns must be pre-authorized through our Customer Service Department, and must be sent back to us in exactly the same condition as you received it. All items must be new and in original boxes. In order to be eligible for return, all internal packing materials, instruction manuals, BLANK warranty cards and accessories must also be included for any replacement, exchange, or refund.
After receiving authorization (RMA) from us, please ship your merchandise (adequately packaged) back to Redtag Camera. Please
do not write on
, or place shipping labels or stickers, on the manufacturer’s packaging. Merchandise shipped back without an RMA will be returned at the buyer’s expense.
Please note – A package refusal will be recognized as an unauthorized return in which a 5% restocking fee, as well as the cost for the returned shipment, will apply. If any of the above conditions are not met, Redtag Camera reserves the right to refuse the return or charge a restock fee of not less than 15%, at our sole discretion.
